Lazio Travertine Pendant Light

A pendant light carved from natural travertine — beige and warm-brown banding running through the stone, finished to a smooth honed surface. Travertine is the same stone the Colosseum is built from; ours is more compact and hangs from your ceiling.

Each piece is unique because the stone is. The natural banding catches light differently from every angle, giving the pendant a quiet sculptural quality even when switched off. Particularly good over a kitchen island, a dining table, or singly above a hallway console.

Common questions

Is travertine the same as marble?

No. Travertine is a sedimentary limestone formed in mineral springs over thousands of years — it has natural banded layering. Marble is metamorphic with veined patterns. Travertine has a softer, more porous, more organic feel.

Will every pendant look the same?

No — each is cut from natural stone, so the banding pattern is unique to your piece. Slight tonal variation and small natural marks are part of the character.

Does it use a bulb or built-in LED?

Built-in warm-white LED — no bulb replacement needed for the lifetime of the fitting.

How does it hang? What weight does the ceiling need to support?

Hangs on a 1.5m cord, adjustable at install. The pendant itself is solid stone — around 1.5–2kg. Your ceiling needs a proper fixing point (joist or appropriate ceiling rose). Talk to your electrician at install.

Will three look right above an island?

Yes — three in a row above an island is beautiful, particularly with the natural variation between stones giving each pendant slightly different banding. Space evenly, mount 70–85cm above the worktop.

Will it stain?

Travertine is porous. Avoid acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar). Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Small marks become patina with age.
