How to make faux look real

Trim the stems to different lengths so they don't look uniformly cut. Bend the wire stems into natural curves rather than leaving them poker-straight. Mix two or three varieties rather than buying one bunch of the same. Place them in a textured vase — stone or ceramic — so the eye reads the vessel first and the stems second.

Care

A monthly dust with a soft brush keeps faux stems looking fresh. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the colour over years. Store between uses by wrapping loosely in tissue paper, never folded.
