About wall lights
Wall lights for hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms and reading nooks — sconces and plug-in fittings that free up table space and add a layer of soft, indirect light to a room.
Wired vs plug-in
Hardwired wall lights deliver the cleanest finished look but require an electrician. Plug-in wall lights are renter-friendly: they fix to the wall but trail a cord to the nearest socket. Both are well-suited to Scandi interiors — the choice depends on whether you can run wiring through the wall.
Where they work
Bedrooms: a pair of wall lights flanking the bed frees up the bedside surface and gives each side independent control. Hallways: low-mounted sconces every 1.5–2m create a gallery feel. Dining rooms: wall lights either side of a piece of art add a museum quality without overwhelming the space. Reading corners: a single swing-arm wall light positioned over the shoulder is gentler than a floor lamp.
The right bulb
Choose 2700K warm white LEDs (4–8W) and a dimmer switch wherever possible. Cooler bulbs (4000K+) work against the warmth of a Scandi interior — keep them out of living spaces.
