About serving dishes
Serving dishes and bowls in matte stoneware, ceramic and natural materials — the table pieces that take a meal from a plate of food to something considered.
The shapes that earn their place
Wide shallow bowls (25–35cm) are the most versatile — they hold salads, pastas, roast vegetables, fruit. A long narrow platter (35–50cm) suits charcuterie, fish and family-style mains. Small dipping bowls (8–12cm) gather olives, dressings, condiments. A mid-size deep bowl (20cm) for stews, curries, risottos.
How many you actually need
For most homes: two large serving dishes, two medium, four small. That's enough to plate a four-course family dinner without resorting to mismatched ceramics from the back of the cupboard.
Care
Most of our stoneware is dishwasher-safe — but hand-washing extends the life of matte glazes and prevents fine scratches over time. Avoid stacking unprotected pieces; a folded tea towel or felt liner between bowls keeps the glaze pristine.
Style with serving boards, jugs and trays for a complete considered table.
