About cheese & serving boards
Cheese boards, charcuterie boards and serving boards for considered home entertaining — in oiled oak, beech, walnut, marble and ceramic.
Cheese, charcuterie or both
The terms get used interchangeably, but a true charcuterie board is usually long and narrow — built for cured meats laid in lines. A cheese board is wider and squarer, with space for wedges, crackers, fruit and small bowls of preserves. A serving board sits between the two and is the most versatile choice if you only want one. We stock all three so you can pick by use.
The wood
Oak is hard, pale and ages to a soft honey colour. Walnut is darker, denser and bookmatched grain looks particularly striking. Beech is the lightest in tone and the most affordable. All our wooden boards are finished with food-safe oils and should be re-oiled with mineral oil or beeswax every few months to keep them sealed.
Marble and ceramic
Marble boards are cool to the touch — the right surface for cheese, especially soft cheeses that benefit from a chilled base. Ceramic and stoneware platters work for warm dishes, antipasti, mezze and crudités.
Care
Wipe wooden boards clean with a damp cloth. Never put a wooden board in a dishwasher or leave it submerged in water. Re-oil every 1–3 months. Marble can be wiped with a damp cloth and a tiny amount of mild soap; avoid acidic cleaners.
Pair with our serving dishes and jugs for a complete table.
