About jugs
Hand-thrown ceramic jugs and stoneware pitchers — useful at a dinner table, beautiful as standalone objects on a shelf or sideboard.
One vessel, three uses
A good ceramic jug is one of the most useful objects in a Scandi home. Use it as a water pitcher at dinner, a milk jug at breakfast, a vase for fresh-cut stems, or a sculptural object holding nothing at all. The same jug can move through all four uses without ever feeling out of place.
The forms
Tall, narrow jugs (25–35cm) suit single tall stems and serve water without splashing. Wide-bellied jugs are the most versatile for arrangements — they hold a generous bunch of pampas, eucalyptus or hydrangea. Squat creamer jugs (10–15cm) sit beside coffee on a tray.
The glazes
We choose matte glazes — chalky cream, sand, deep clay, soft sage — over high-shine. Matte stoneware feels older, quieter, and pairs better with the natural materials of a Scandi interior. Look for slight tonal variations across the jug's surface; that's the mark of a hand-finished piece.
