Tivoli Travertine Wall Light

£75.60

A wall light carved from natural travertine — sculptural, weighted, naturally veined.

A wall light carved from natural travertine — soft beige and warm-brown banding running through the stone, finished to a smooth honed surface. Travertine is named for Tivoli in Italy, where the stone has been quarried since Roman times. The Colosseum is built from it. Yours is more compact.

Each piece is unique because the stone is. The horizontal banding catches and softens the warm light from inside, giving the fixture an architectural, almost candle-lit quality. Particularly good above a console table in an entryway, lining a hallway, or as a single sculptural moment in a calm bedroom.

Common questions

Is travertine the same as marble?

No. Travertine is a sedimentary limestone formed in mineral springs over thousands of years — it has natural banded layering. Marble is metamorphic with veined patterns. Travertine has a softer, more porous, more organic feel.

Will every wall light look the same?

No — each piece is cut from natural stone, so the banding pattern is unique. Slight tonal variation and small natural marks are part of the character of travertine.

Does it use a bulb or built-in LED?

Built-in warm-white LED — no bulb replacement needed for the lifetime of the fixture.

Can it be used outdoors?

Some variants are rated for sheltered outdoor use (covered porches, balconies). Check the product variant before buying — direct rain exposure is not recommended for travertine.

How heavy is it?

Around 1.3–1.5kg depending on size. The wall needs a solid fixing point — a stud or proper wall plug, not just drywall on its own.

Will it stain?

Travertine is porous. Avoid acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar). Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Small marks become part of the patina with time.
