A semi-flush ceiling light with a softly domed glass shade in smoke grey, set into a matte black fitting. The form sits closer to the ceiling than a hanging pendant — particularly useful in rooms with lower ceilings where a full drop would overwhelm.

The smoke glass softens the bulb's light into a warmer, more atmospheric glow, and the black fitting reads as architectural without being heavy. Sits beautifully in bedrooms, hallways, bathrooms (subject to electrical zone rules) and small dining areas where a more sculptural pendant would feel too dramatic.

Common questions

Is this a flush or pendant fitting?

Semi-flush — the dome sits a few centimetres below the ceiling rather than hanging on a cord. It's the right choice for ceilings under 2.4m where a pendant would be in the way.

What bulb does it take?

E27 (standard screw fitting), 40W max. We recommend 6–9W LED in 2700K for the warmest light. The smoke glass will diffuse a frosted or clear bulb equally well.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

Only outside of zones 0, 1 and 2 (the areas near the bath/shower). For general bathroom lighting in a dry area, yes — check with your electrician.

How does the smoke glass differ from a clear or amber dome?

Smoke gives the softest, most diffused light. Clear glass would expose the bulb shape; amber would cast a warmer, more golden tint. Smoke is the most flexible if you want neutral warmth.
