Common Questions

What stones do you use?
Our stone vases are made from travertine, limestone and alabaster — three of the most beautiful natural stones for interior use. Each has a different character: travertine is banded and warm, limestone is finer-grained and slightly cooler, and alabaster has a translucent glow when backlit.
Can I put fresh flowers in a stone vase?
Yes, but we recommend a glass or plastic insert inside the vase to protect the stone from prolonged water contact. Stones are naturally porous and will absorb water over time, which can leave marks.
Do stone vases come with sealant applied?
Yes. All our stone vases are pre-sealed for indoor use. The sealant is food-safe and odourless, and gives the stone modest resistance to spills. We still recommend wiping any spills promptly.
How long will a stone vase last?
Indefinitely. Stone vases have no plastic, no electronics, no moving parts. With basic care a stone vase will outlast its owner. This is one of the reasons we love stone — it is the antithesis of fast homewares.
Are your stone vases handmade?
The forms are CNC-shaped from a single block of stone, then hand-finished and polished by craftspeople. No two pieces are identical because the stone's natural veining and colour vary from block to block.
About stone vases uk

Stone vases shaped from travertine, limestone and alabaster — pieces with real weight and natural veining. Each one is unique because the stone is.

The materials

Travertine forms in mineral springs over thousands of years, leaving a soft banded grain that runs through every cut. Limestone is denser, warmer in tone and often honed to a soft matte finish. Alabaster is translucent and prized for lamp bases, but used as a vase it carries an unusual softness in the surface.

Sized to suit

A small stone bud vase (10–18cm) on a bedside or shelf, paired with a single dried stem, is one of the easiest ways to bring weight and quietness to a room. A medium vase (20–35cm) on a sideboard or coffee table holds a fuller seasonal arrangement. A floor vase (45cm+) is a sculptural moment in its own right — a single tall branch is all it needs.

Caring for stone

Stone is porous. Use the included water liner or a glass insert to hold fresh stems — water can stain unsealed stone. Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners.
